Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris is optimistic that Brian Brobbey and Dennis Cirkin will be available for selection this weekend.

The Black Cats return to Premier League action on Saturday, hosting Brighton & Hove Albion at Stadium of Light following their defeat to Port Vale last time out.

Both players completed full training this week after injuries that kept them out since February’s defeat to Fulham. However, Nordi Mukiele, Robin Roefs and Reinildo Mandava will miss the match.

“Brian and Dennis have trained fully this week,” Le Bris told Sunderland website.

“They might be available. Nordi (Mukiele), Robin (Roefs) and Rei (Reinildo) are in a good place but won’t be available for this fixture.

“Probably they will train next week, Rei 100%, so it’s more about the Newcastle game for them.

“They are progressing well. It’s going to be six to eight weeks minimum.

“We’ll try a conservative reaction, then depending on the reaction, we’ll see if we need something else.”
