Sunderland responded quickly, equalising three minutes later as Enzo Le Fee finished calmly from Nordi Mukiele’s low cross.
After a balanced first half, the hosts took control following the break and were rewarded when Brian Brobbey scored the winner 19 minutes from time, lobbing Dean Henderson after fine build-up play from Noah Sadiki.
“It was another tough game because Crystal Palace are a good side; they are experienced and organized,” Le Bris told the media.
“We reacted well to get the equaliser, and the second half was interesting.
“It says a lot about our fighting spirit and our connection with the crowd.
“We have this energy, and we found a solution when we adjusted a few details, which allowed us to be better in the second half.”
