Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has teased a return to the touchline this week as he lands a new role.

Klopp accepted a consultancy position with the Red Bull organisation as their Head of Global Football back in January 2025 as he made his way back to football after leaving Liverpool in the summer of 2024.

The Liverpool icon, who led the Reds to the Premier League and Champions League as well as several other honours, he now landed a job with German TV station Magenta TV for next year’s World Cup.

"Many of you have always known better," he said in a voiceover alongside footage of him walking around a stadium. But I truly couldn't envision it for myself.

"Going back to the sideline? I don't miss anything. This is what I always thought. But now it is tingling again. Grass underneath my feet. The heated atmosphere in the stadium. And I want to be really close again."

"Oh? No, not as a manager," he clarified. "I am becoming a pundit for Magenta TV at the FIFA World Cup 2026."

Klopp then called German television host and journalist, Johannes B. Kerner.

"Hi Johannes," he began. "I'm in! See you on June 11 in Mexico! Cool sentence. Except for Indiana Jones, probably nobody can say it."

Klopp currently oversees football operations across RB Leipzig, New York Red Bulls, and Red Bull Salzburg in a role he says is loving as he takes time away from coaching. It is down to the German if he will ever return to management, which looks unlikely over the next year as he prepares for the World Cup.
