Klinsmann moves to assure Liverpool over Wirtz form

Wirtz has so far failed to live up to the £125m price paid to Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

But Klinsmann insists it is only a matter of time before the Germany attacker proves his value.

He told Sports Illustrated: "Florian needs his time to find his way around the north west of England, Liverpool in particular.

"That's a lot for a young guy. And then he comes into a team that consists only of superstars.

"He has to fight his way through step by step - and he will. He is a fighter."
