Mikel Arteta has revealed the latest on Jurrien Timber's injury ahead of Arsenal's clash against Burnley on Monday night.

Timber was forced off the pitch in the 2-0 win over Everton on March 14, and has subsequently missed the last 12 games in all competitions with a groin problem.

Mikel Arteta has admitted that the Dutchman's injury has proven to be a complicated one, and there are doubts over his inclusion in the final two matches.

Speaking in his press conference on Thursday morning, Arteta admitted that Timber is "progressing" and he's "doing everything" he possibly can to help the team.

The 24-year-old was arguably one of Arsenal's most influential players before suffering an injury, recording 11 goal involvements in all competitions across 43 matches.

Ben White has since filled in for the Dutchman at right-back, but he sustained an MCL injury in the 1-0 win over West Ham on Sunday and will require surgery on his knee.

Cristhian Mosquera is the likely candidate to start the home clash against Burnley, with victory putting the Gunners a giant leap closer to the Premier League title.
