Current United manager Ruben Amorim has managed just two wins from their first six Premier League games and are sat 14th place in the Premier League, far behind leaders Liverpool despite their loss at the weekend.
Their downfall in recent years has been well reported and countless managers have tried and failed to turn the Red Devils around since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson over 10 years ago.
In a wide ranging interview, Klopp spoke on the development in his new role as Head of Global Soccer and mocked United for their drop in the football pyramid.
“We are not the final destination. We are not Liverpool… or in former times Man United! You can write that if you want.”
United have no European football this season and have also already been eliminated from the League Cup, losing a brutal penalty shootout to League Two club Grimsby Town. As they continue to fail, old enemies like Klopp will continue to relish in their disappointment and lack of success for years to come.
