The 26-year-old sustained the injury in a clash with Micky van de Ven as he struck the ball into the back of the Tottenham net.
Isak is now expected to be sidelined for the next three-four months after Liverpool confirmed he underwent a successful surgery on Monday (December 22).
He has since taken to Instagram to send a message to the fans, vowing to “work hard” and get back to action as soon as he can.
"Gutted to be out for a while. Time to recover and support from the sideline. I will work hard to be back as soon as I possibly can," Isak said.
"Thank you all reds and everyone else for the kind messages, it does not go unnoticed."
