Newcastle defender Malick Thiaw was delighted to score his first goals for the club in their 4-1 Premier League win over Everton on Saturday (November 29).

The 24-year-old was awarded the Player of the Match award for his impressive performance in Newcastle’s win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Thiaw opened the scoring for Eddie Howe’s side in the first minute with a perfect header from Lewis Miley’s corner before bagging his second and Newcastle’s fourth in the 58th.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, the German defender was delighted to get his first goals for the club since joining in the summer, thanking the Newcastle fans for their support.

"I'm grateful, it is an incredible moment for me. The Newcastle fans have welcomed me like it is my new home so I am really grateful," he said.
