Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has hinted that striker Alexander Isak could be on his way out this summer as Liverpool circle.

The 25-year-old has been training along this pre-season as he reportedly pushes for a move away from St James’ Park this summer.

Several reports have suggested that Liverpool are keen on signing the Sweden international and had a £120 million bid rejected by Newcastle.

Howe has since claimed that he only wants players who want to play for the club, potentially hinting that the club have shifted their stance on selling Isak.

Speaking to journalist Craig Hope, the Newcastle manager said: "No, that’s not something I'm aware of. I have no knowledge of that. I want players who really want to play for this club."
