The Portuguese international joined Spurs on a season-long loan from Bayern Munich last summer, and the deal included an option to make the move permanent for €30million (£25.9m).
Palhinha was the hero on Sunday, as he scored the goal against Everton that confirmed Tottenham's Premier League survival after an abysmal campaign.
Now the 30-year-old has spoken about how he "feels at home" in North London, as his transfer to the Lilywhites edges closer.
“Since the first day I arrived I feel at home,” Palhinha said.
“From the supporters, the crowd. Top club. Who doesn’t want to play for Tottenham and stay here? I have everything here. But this is like a marriage. What I can say to you is I would really like to be here, and I enjoy it a lot this season with this club – even with it being a tough season.”
Palhinha has gone from being a tackling machine in the middle of the park to turning in some match-winning displays, scoring vital goals against Manchester City, Wolves and Everton.
A return of seven strikes in all competitions is the best of his career in a single campaign, and it's hardly surprising that he wants to continue at Spurs.
