But Hurzeler says there's plans to open talks with Van Hecke's management team about a new contract.
The German also said: "I love Jan Paul, I love his attitude, the way he works for the team at – I love his winning mentality.
"He has a great influence on his teammates, which is why I would very much like to continue working with him because we have a really good relationship."
Van Hecke's current deal runs to the end of next season.
