Former Chelsea star Gus Poyet has spoken on a number of topics, including Son Heung-min's legacy at Tottenham and his Premier League predictions.

Son is expected to join Los Angeles FC for around £20M after announcing his departure from Spurs over the weekend. His departure brings his 10 year stint with the side to an end as he looks to spend the twilight of his career in the USA.

Son should be proud of his time at Tottenham

Now, in an interview with Alqaheranews as interviewed by journalist Magdy Salama, Poyet has commented on how the South Korean international should be proud of all he has achieved with the North London side.

“I think 10 years is a long time, so he should be proud of his time at Tottenham. I think this is the right time for him to leave, after winning his only title with the club. I wish him all the best in his next challenge.”

Do Spurs have a shot at the title?

Continuing on the topic of Tottenham, Poyet was asked about his former side once more and stated that although Spurs have world class talent, rival teams likely have more firepower which will make it tricky for them to compete in the title race.

“Absolutely, but winning titles in England is extremely difficult, as many teams are competing for the title.”

The title race will be a close call

Finally, Poyet was questioned on who he thinks will lift the Premier League title this season in what is shaping up to be an unpredictable affair between the best clubs in England who have spent more than any other league during the summer transfer window.

“Many teams are competing to win the league, so it's unpredictable. The competition is usually between Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea. Everyone has added players, and it will be a fierce competition.”
