Former Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood is being linked with a move to the Premier League.

Greenwood bagged 21 Ligue 1 goals in his debut campaign in the competition for Marseille, before grabbing another 13 this season to establish himself as one of Europe’s most elite strikers.

The forward claimed the Player of the Match award against Union Saint-Gilloise on Tuesday evening, scoring twice in a 3-2 victory. There is no doubt that Greenwood is world-class as teams begin to prepare bids for the Englishman, whose past controversies may get in the way of a big move.

Reports by TEAMtalk state that sources reveal a Premier League return may come next summer, with Tottenham linked to the youngster who cannot stop scoring.

Greenwood's international career with England was limited to just one cap, and he is unlikely to be called up to the Three Lions squad under Thomas Tuchel despite his form. The striker has recently tried to switch to Jamaica as the nation attempt to qualify for the World Cup next year.

Greenwood was accused of attempted rape, assault and coercive control in January 2022 and such controversies may hurt a move back to the Premier League even if he would be a welcome addition to most attacking sides.

When United confirmed the sale for £26.6M to Marseille, they included a sell-on clause to ensure a significant portion of any future transfer fee which may come sooner than expected.
