Grealish sealed Everton’s victory over Crystal Palace, who were previously unbeaten in the Premier League. His 93rd minute strike was special and was a reward for his consistency since signing for The Toffees after joining in the summer.
The England international has clearly rediscovered his spark on Merseyside, away from City, where he became a shadow of his old self. Speaking on Instagram, he reacted to his first goal in front of the Everton crowd.
“Nah what a one touch finish that was man!!! Unbelievable day that was for you the Toffees! What a group of lads well done my brothers.”
The winger has assisted four goals across his nine appearances for Everton so far. His first goal not only sends a message to his doubters but also City manager Pep Guardiola who slowly forced him out of his side who have struggled so far this season.
Grealish’s form wasn’t enough to earn him a recall to the England squad named by Thomas Tuchel last week and he will be hoping that his first goal will start to turn his head before the World Cup next year.
