Galatasaray have made an enquiry about the Swiss centre-back, and are considering making a bid.
However, any possible deal depends on whether Akanji is willing to take a pay cut. Galatasaray will not make an offer until the club has received word about it.
Akanji joined City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022. His contract runs until the summer of 2027.
