Spurs will be looking to win their third successive game in seven days across all competitions when they travel to the Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon. After losing both home and away meetings in the top flight last season, Tottenham will surely be out for revenge.
Solanke update
Frank opened his conference with an update on striker Dominic Solanke who is slowing returning to the first team.
“The positive thing is he's back on the grass and he has been doing do for 3-4 days. He's progressing, slowly but he's progressing. Too early for tomorrow and too early for Doncaster.”
Frank has a lot of praise for Romero
He next had a lot of praise for World Cup winner and solid centre back Romero who he says has matured over the past few years as he continues to impress.
“I think he's a great character. He loves his football. He's like a boy sometimes, he loves playing out there with the boys. He loves the game. When he trains he's focused, he's got that ability. Even with set pieces it can be stop start but he's so focused.
“I rate him super highly. I agree that I think he's one of the best centre-backs in the world. It helps when you've won the World Cup. Copa America and Europa League. The best players, they are performing consistently week in, week out, year in, year out.
“I don't know Cuti that well yet but I've watched him for years. I see a more mature player, I'm not saying the last three months but for longer. He's aggressive when he needs to be and cool and composed when he needs to be.”
When will Frank look at the Premier League table?
Finally, questions then turned to the Premier League table and Frank revealed that he is taking one game at a time rather than looking at the bigger picture this early in the season.
"April. Let's put it that way. I'm focused on us and our performances and what we can do. For the fans, they should dream and hope. That's what football is all about. I also dream and hope but I'm a little closer to things so I need to stay level headed."
