Do Tottenham need to be more daring?

Frank will lead a club who have won just two of their first 12 contests against Sunderland as he aims to jump into the top half of the table. Questions first focused on comments that his side are boring after a dire 0-0 draw with Brentford

"It's not perfect, we want to be a free-flowing team.

"We are working very hard on the offensive part of the game. I understand the frustration and I share it too. There is a few things we need to improve on and one of those is losing the ball through unforced errors, which happened 25 times (against Brentford). I showed those 25 clips to the players today.

"That is where we are right now. Unfortunately very boring, but that is the fact; we need to do everything we can to put an attacking, intense, front-footed performance against Sunderland in two days time and I will do everything I can to make sure we do that."

He was then asked if he needs to be more daring: "I am daring; I am sitting here."

Did Maresca deserve more time?

London rivals Chelsea sacked Enzo Maresca this week ahead of their clash with Manchester City this weekend. Frank moved on from his sides’ struggles and revealed that the Blues maybe should’ve given him more time.

"We don't know what happened behind the scenes. It could be a good reason or a bad reason, who knows. I don't care, I have other things to worry about.

"The one thing I would say is that it is difficult to build something sustainable and successful if you don't keep a person in a job for a long time. All the top examples of clubs being successful year in year about keep members of staff for a long time."

Lastly, questions moved on from Maresca and back to Tottenham who will miss the likes of Xavi Simons, Dominic Solanke, Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison for the clash. Frank did however, give an update on one defender in a small silver lining for the side: “Lucas Bergvall is a doubt, but we hope he’ll be ready.”
