Former Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has broken his silence on the possibility of reuniting with Antony at Bayer Leverkusen.

The 25-year-old is widely expected to leave Man United this summer despite an impressive second half of the season on loan with Real Betis.

United are in desperate need of raising funds if they want to build the squad in Ruben Amorim’s image this summer, and Antony is now valued at £50 million.

Bayer Leverkusen are one of several clubs linked with a move for the Brazilian, but Ten Hag has seemingly shut down any possibility of a transfer happening any time soon.

Speaking to BILD, Ten Hag said: “He has great quality. I signed him twice. He was like a son to me, he still is a son to me.

“We're not interested in him at the moment, but we'll see what happens in the future."
