Nottingham Forest boss Sean Dyche was left delighted with matchwinner Igor Jesus after victory at Wolves on Wednesday night.

Igor Jesus scored the only goal of the night - his first in the Premier League - as Forest won 1-0 at Molineux.

“I’m really pleased for him,” Dyche said afterwards. “He works really hard and is learning about his trade in the Premier League.

“He’s brave, we know that, and he has thrown his head at that one. He has kept his eye on the ball all the way over.

“I’m pleased for him to get his goal. We were all surprised he had one chalked off at Liverpool and then on Sunday (against Brighton and Hove Albion) the keeper made a great save from him.

“You wonder when it’s going to come his way. Tonight was a very important goal.

“It was a great cross from Omari (Hutchinson), who I thought was excellent. It wasn’t just that cross; his work ethic for the team was absolutely top class. I still think there is more to come from him. I’m pleased for him and for Igor, for different reasons.”

Dyche added, “Some players need time. Some hit the ground running. Other clubs in the Premier League have spent big money on players and it has taken them time to settle.

“Some, it can take a season or two. There are players - I will not name them - who have done great things in the Premier League, who were not doing so three years ago. Now they are.

“These players are adapting really well in the Premier League, in my opinion. And there is still more to come, in my opinion.”
