Earlier this month, Fernandes revealed United were prepared to move him on in the summer when Al Hilal were ready to pay £100M to sign him in what would have been one of the biggest deals the club has ever made.
Amorim is the sixth different manager that Fernandes has worked alongside, and he has now spoken straightforwardly about his working relationship with the Portuguese head coach, who has brought mixed feelings amongst United supporters.
"We set a boundary so that things don't get crossed,” he told Canal 11. “But if I have to make a little comment here or there... I try not to do it in front of the other players.
“But if he might say something, I'll say something he doesn't like me to say: 'Just like JJ'. He's a very serious person at work, like me, his connection with the Sporting players was incredible."
"Here, he's increasingly trying to get into the players' heads and hearts, so that the relationship is more man-to-man and not coach-to-player," the midfielder added.
Reports state that Fernandes will likely leave when his contract runs out at the end of this season, and after such drama in recent weeks it looks like he is not afraid to be open and honest about his situation.
The midfielder is likely to go to the Saudi Pro League, where several sides including Al Hilal are said to be interested in snapping him up for free.
