English coach Beale is a former manager of Sunderland, Queens Park Rangers and Rangers, while he has also been assistant to Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa and Al-Ettifaq.
Expressen says AIK are now in contact with Beale about potentially succeeding Thomassen.
Along with a new coach, AIK are also seeking a new director of football.
