Ten Hag, 55, was unceremoniously sacked after just 62 days, further damaging his reputation following rollercoaster spell at Man United.
The Dutchman has since been linked with a move to Premier League strugglers Wolves, who sacked Vitor Periera with the club rock bottom of the table.
According to ESPN, Ten Hag would be ‘open’ to rebuilding his career at the club despite having doubts about taking a job mid-season.
Middlesbrough boss Rob Edwards and former Man United midfielder Michael Carrick have also been linked to the job, with Gary O’Neil taking himself out of the running.
Wolves have just two points from their opening ten Premier League games. Ten Hag would need a miracle to keep them up should he take the job.
