Duffus was set to be blocked from moving to ASSE due to his British citizenship, but with a Jamaican passport it clears him to sign with the French club.
ASSE had already filled their two non-EU spots, but were cleared to sign Duffus thanks to the Jamaican citizenship, which came through his mother's side of the family.
Duffus has penned a four-year deal with ASSE, having also attracted interest from Bayer Leverkusen and Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.
It's unknown whether Duffus is now ready to fully commit his international future to Jamaica.
