West Ham fell to their fourth defeat in their opening five Premier League games at the London Stadium on Saturday (September 20).
Jean-Philippe Mateta scored the opener only for West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen to bag the equaliser just after the break.
Unfortunately for Potter and co, Tyrick Mitchell scored the winner shortly after, leaving the manager’s future in a precarious position and secure all three points with a 2-1 win for the visitors.
Speaking to the press after the game, Potter acknowledged things aren’t going well at the club and could only assume he retained the backing of the board.
He said: “I have no reason to think not, but I also understand the environment, I also understand the results, but I have no complaints at all with the support that we've had and the support from the supporters, from everybody at the club really.”
“I think everyone's finding it tough because that's reality. It's not an easy situation.
“There's no point getting away from that, but then the opportunity is to work through it, to find the answer, to find the solution, and then be stronger for the experience.”
