Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite's season is over after picking up an injury against Liverpool at the weekend.

The 23-year-old missed 35 Premier League matches from a hamstring injury last season, an injury he has picked up once more against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Branthwaite was left in tears as he was stretchered off late, clutching his right hamstring after sliding into the advertising boards attempting a clearance.

Now, as revealed by the Daily Mail, the England star has had a scan which revealed the extent of his hamstring injury that will leave him on the sidelines for two months.

Branthwaite also missed last week’s warm-weather training camp in Portugal as a precaution as the club looked to protect the defender from further injury.

The youngster only made his return from a long-term hamstring injury back in January, with his first appearance of the season coming in early 2026 as he worked his way back into the side.

His season is now over and England boss Thomas Tuchel will not be able to rely on him for this summer’s World Cup in the US, Mexico and Canada where the Everton star had a small chance of receiving a phone call from the German coach.

Everton are now 10th in the Premier League, one point behind Chelsea in sixth and the latest knock to Branthwaite could seriously hurt their already slim chances of grabbing European football for next season.
