Everton have seen a second bid for Southampton midfielder Tyler Dibling rejected this week ahead of the new season.

The England international caught the eye during his breakthrough campaign, scoring four goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for the relegated side who have now dropped back down to the Championship.

Everton have made an approach to Chelsea over signing Kieran Dewsbury-Hall on Monday afternoon as they aim to bolster their midfield which has been lacklustre in recent years. The addition of Dibling and Dewsbury-Hall to the Everton side could help them become European candidates once more under manager David Moyes who is certainly keen on improving his side.

Journalist David Ornstein reports that the Toffees have submitted an offer for Dibling but it is likely to be rejected by the Saints who are hopeful of a bigger offer despite Dibling keen to get back to the Premier League.

“Everton make improved offer to Southampton for Tyler Dibling. Latest #EFC proposal worth package in region of £40m including add-ons.

“#SaintsFC expected to reject - want higher fee for 19yo winger. England youth int’l keen on return to PL.”

Moyes is desperate for a new right winger and Dibling’s versatility means he can play both in midfield and out on the wing for Everton if he does make the move. However, at the age of 19, Dibling is yet to reach his full potential and there would be a lot of pressure for such a young player to shine as soon as he arrives in Merseyside that could damage his growth.

Everton, who drew 1-1 with Man United overnight in the US, get their Premier League campaign underway against Leeds on August 18th and Moyes will hope that the deal for Dibling who has been previously been linked to Tottenham, RB Leipzig and Chelse can be completed by then.
