Several reports have suggested that Fernandez, 25, is unhappy at Chelsea, with qualification for next season’s Champions League is doubt.
The midfielder has been heavily linked with Real Madrid as they search for a long-term successor to Luka Modric, who left last summer.
Speaking on YouTube channel Avirales, Fernandez admitted he would like to live in Madrid one day soon, adding fuel to the rumours he’s keen on a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
“I’d like to live in Spain. I really like Madrid; it reminds me of Buenos Aires. Players live where they want. I’d live in Madrid. I get by in English, but I’d be more comfortable in Spanish,” he said.
