Brentford midfielder Jordan Henderson has urged fans to get behind England teammate Ben White.

The Arsenal defender made an eventful comeback last night as he scored and gave away a penalty in England's 1-1 draw with Uruguay in the Wembley friendly.

It was White's first appearance since he walked out on England's World Cup squad in Qatar three years ago.

The defender was booed by a section of the home crowd and afterwards Henderson said: "I've been through the same thing, but it's part of being a England player.

"Some fans probably don't even know why they're booing. They hear what is being said in the media and often that is not true.

"Not many people know the details of what happened in Qatar, and it's up to us to handle internally.

"Ben has been good since returning and we support him as teammates."
