Liverpool striker Hugo Ekitike is confident there is more to come from him after scoring in victory over West Ham on Saturday.

Ekitike scored the first goal of the match and also provided assists for Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo in the 5-2 win.

After the final whistle, he was named man of the match. Despite that, he was self-critical.

"To be honest, I could have scored more goals. I'm not completely satisfied," he told Liverpool's website.

"But it's not just about scoring goals, but also about contributing with assists. Today I was responsible for one or two. As long as I help the team and am involved, that's the most important thing. I want to win, so in that way I'm happy. Now I'm looking forward to the upcoming matches."

Before the meeting with West Ham, the striker had gone four straight matches without finding the net, something he admits affected him.

"Of course I can get better. I could have scored goals in the last few games too, I had good chances. So I have to keep working," says the 23-year-old.

Despite the goal drought, Ekitike has already scored 16 goals in his first season at Liverpool and has made a clear mark in the Premier League. At the same time, he is far from satisfied.

"I want to be the best version of myself to help the team even more, because I know I can contribute more. It's always about learning and getting better. In the upcoming matches I will try to be even better, score more goals and be more involved," he adds.
