Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche says they must build on the point earned against Premier League leaders Arsenal on Saturday.

A 0-0 draw leaves Forest five points above the relegation zone.

“I’ve spoken about consistency a lot since I got here,” Dyche said afterwards. “It is about how to find that balance because it is a different mindset going into these games - the fans are different and the feeling is different.

“Winning the fight you're supposed to win is not always the easiest one to win, sometimes it's about that. But we have got to keep pushing ourselves.

"If it is a game people consider we could or should win, then we have got to grow with that. It is part of the expectation of the football club.

“This club went supersonic last season and it changed the whole feel, the whole expectation and the storyline. The season started really poorly and now we have got to correct that.

"It takes time. There’s no magic dust or flicking a switch and it's all brilliant all of a sudden. It’s a gradual process

“I know there's clear signs. People can question it, but I know because I work with the players every day. There's a really good feel about the group and how they are growing into the Premier League this season after a really tough start.”

On the performance on the night, Dyche also said:  “I like the fact that they have delivered a really strong performance against a top side. I am pleased to come out of that with a clean-sheet; it is pleasing from a defensive side of things.

“I didn’t think we were far wrong in other games we have played. The details are so important - Matz (Sels) makes a big save and that can change the outlook.

“They did have chances, some balls flashing across the box; but not killer chances, not open chances. I'm pleased we kept them down to those types of chances.

"They did not open us up and play through us too many times. That shows a very strong defensive performance.

“You sometimes have to play on the counter against top sides like this. We did it very well against Manchester City and we have done it again and got a good, well-deserved point.”
