Manchester United Double winner Paul Parker has urged the club to sell captain Bruno Fernandes today.

With Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad willing to pay £100m for the Portugal international before tonight's transfer deadline, Parker is urging United to take the money.

He told Slotozilla: "The manager has got this pipe dream about this formation that he wants to play. At the moment, Bruno for me doesn't fit it because (Ruben) Amorim’s gone out and he's got what he wants as a front three. Bruno is the spare man, he'll play if one of them is injured.

"They need a midfield player because it doesn't work with him now. If they’re desperate, he'll go and put his cape on, and he'll get them out of trouble. That's his sole intention really, to get them out of trouble. And then he's heralded by the fans as this super player. But for United to be where they're going, looking at his age and everything else.

"I think (Matheus) Cunha needs more of a free role, we have seen that and he can do that. You’ve got (Bryan) Mbuemo and (Benjamin) Sesko, who needs to play up top and you’ve got to give him a run now. So what you do with Bruno? You're asking Bruno to sit there in a position where you’ve got to be patient, you’ve got to be disciplined.

"He can't do that over a duration of time. It's obvious that he needs someone in there with the to do that role week in, week out. He is a square peg in a round hole. If the money was to come from Saudi, I wonder now whether or not Bruno would consider it…

"I think the club should consider it."
