He told the Coventry website: “I'm really happy to get it over the line and now I can kick on now and try and get some minutes before the season starts.
“I'm really excited, I truly am, it's been a long time coming and now I’m itching to get going.”
Sky Blues manager Frank Lampard also said: “We’re delighted to welcome Carl to Coventry City.
“He’s a very talented goalkeeper with quality in every aspect of his game.
“His character and experience will be a great addition to our group, and I am looking forward to working alongside and developing him.”
