The players will join from Ecuadorian Serie A club Independiente Del Valle, with reports stating the fee for the pair could reach above £9M. The club released a statement on Thursday afternoon, confirming the news.
“Arsenal Football Club have reached an agreement to sign twin brothers Edwin and Holger Quintero from Ecuadorian side Independiente del Valle, with the twins due to join us in August 2027.
“We will be collaborating closely with Independiente del Valle on the development and well-being of both Edwin and Holger until they arrive at Arsenal.
“Everyone at Arsenal is excited to welcome the Quintero twins to the club in the near future.”
Independiente Dele Valle have produced talents such as Kendry Paez, Moises Caicedo, and Piero Hincapi over the past decade, and Arsenal’s new set of twins could also develop into similar world-class talents.
One of the twins, Edwin, has been compared to legendary figure Neymar, who of course went on to star for Brazil, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. Holger, meanwhile, Arsenal say “is a technically gifted, right-footed, attacking midfielder”.
In two years time the pair will touch down in North London and try to leave their mark on the academy when they turn 18. For now, they will stay with Independiente Del Valle as Arsenal monitor their progress.
