The Holland international, says The Sun, is determined to get back in time to help United in their fight to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League.
De Ligt suffered a setback in his recovery last month, though has so far managed to avoid surgery.
Along with getting back for United, the Dutchman also has his sights set on Holland's World Cup campaign this summer.
