The 34-year-old striker is in the form of his life at Brighton, scoring six goals in his ten Premier League games so far, including the opener in their 3-0 win over Leeds on Saturday (November 1).
As a result, rumours have started to circulate that Tuchel is keen on calling Welbeck up to the England squad for the first time since 2018.
Speaking after the game against Leeds, Brighton manager Hurzeler fully backed the former Man United and Arsenal star to get the nod.
"I have a big belief that Danny Welbeck is able to play for England," he said.
"I asked the question of the squad if they think Danny Welbeck and play for England and they all agreed, so that was the only time we mentioned it. Let's see what happens.
"But I will try to emphasise that England has a great coach and he will make the right decisions."
