Amorim’s side finished just 15th in the Premier League last season, and an encouraging run to the Europa League final destroyed by a dramatic loss to Premier League rivals Tottenham.
Playing under Amorim is a privilege
However, United have turned themselves around so far this season as they seek to push into the European spots ahead of league champions Liverpool thanks to a host of summer improvements.
One of these signings was Cunha who recently impressed for Brazil in a 2-0 win against Senegal at the Emirates Stadium and once more against Tunisia on Tuesday night.
The forward was asked about teammate Bryan Mbeumo and head coach Amorim who he promptly started to praise.
"Amazing. What a player (Mbeumo). You asked me some questions to think about United, right now my mind is in Brazil.
"But it's amazing to be there, and it's amazing to play with big players like Bryan. And to be coached by a winner is always something I feel privileged about."
Cunha is just happy to play
When asked about his favourite position, the 26-year-old said he was just happy to be on the pitch so he can help United climb back to their perch.
"My favourite position is to be on the pitch and help my team, of course. Right now in Brazil, I have a different job to come a little bit and help the team in the build-up and attack as a striker.
"I feel fine playing as a false nine, exactly, this kind of participation in the build-up and get on the ball more."
Amorim’s side welcome Everton to Old Trafford on Monday night, a game which Cunha should start as he continues to live up to his price tag.
