Crystal Palace have now reached an agreement with Tottenham Hotspur over a deal to sign Brennan Johnson.

Johnson has made only six Premier League starts this season under manager Thomas Frank, and was a late substitute in their 1-0 win at Crystal Palace on Sunday night.

Now, as per journalist David Ornstein, the Eagles have agreed a deal to sign the Welshman, who is keen for game time ahead of his January move.

“Crystal Palace reach agreement with Tottenham Hotspur over deal to sign Brennan Johnson, subject to 24yo accepting move.

“Fee approaching £35m in place + clubs keen to proceed but #THFC winger still to decide - more suitors for Wales int’l.”

The 24-year-old scored the winner in last season’s Europa League final against Manchester United and was admired by the likes of Everton and Aston Villa, but the two sides look to have missed out.

Johnson has only played 996 minutes of football this season, with over half of his 22 appearances coming as a substitute, and is said to be desperate for regular football which Palace can offer.

The January transfer window opens on Thursday, 1st January, and the deal for Johnson is reported to occur as soon as it opens.
