Colombia encouraged as Arsenal defender Mosquera snubbed by Spain

Captain of Spain U21s, Mosquera is yet to be capped by La Roja at senior level and is being targeted by the Colombian FA.

Mosquera qualifies for Colombia through his parents and the South American nation hope to tempt him with a guaranteed place in next year's World Cup squad.

And the player, himself, who has shone for the Gunners in his first months in England, has stated:  "I want to play for Spain, but if the wait is prolonged, I will evaluate other options."

Despite the doubts, De la Fuente has overlooked Mosquera for today's call as Spain prepare to meet Georgia and Turkey next week.
