According to BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Chelsea considered parting ways in the summer and even went as far as meeting with De Zerbi.
The club are no longer interested in signing the Marseille manager, however, and appear to have settled on Strasbourg boss Liam Rosenior.
Rosenior has plenty of experience dealing with the current BlueCo leadership group and has been regarded as a future Chelsea manager for some time.
