Chelsea have reportedly set their sights on another highly rated South American talent, enquiring about a €30m-rated starlet — though his €100m release clause could prove a major stumbling block.

The Premier League side have a recent history of scouring South America for the best young talents having already signed Estevao and Kendry Paez.

Now, according to Soy del Millo, Chelsea have contacted River Plate over a potential transfer for Ian Subiabre, 18.

Subiabre has previously been of interest to Barcelona but River are keen on tying the winger down to a new deal as his current contract expires in December 2026.

Per River Noticias, the youngster has a €30 million release clause in his contract, but the Argentine giants are hoping to raise that to €100m.

It’s understood his agents aren’t too keen on having such a high release clause, however, and would like it to be around the €35-40m mark.
