The Geordie has been a regular at U21 and U18 games this season, including traveling to Oxford United for the previous FA Youth Cup tie.
During the presser, Carrick joked: “The U21s are kicking off in 25 minutes, so I’m looking forward to finishing this and going to watch them very soon. I’d much rather be there, I must say!”
Carrick then was able to catch United U21s' win against Southampton, with Victor Musa scoring twice in front of his senior manager.
