The goalkeeper has signed a one-year deal at Turf Moor after spending seven-and-a-half years with the Magpies were he was deemed surplus to requirements by manager Eddie Howe. The Slovakian international lost his spot as first-choice goalkeeper following the arrival of Nick Pope from Burnley in 2022 but will not featured prominently for The Clarets.
Speaking to the club website, the 36 year old revealed how happy he is to join the newly promoted side who will try to use his experience to avoid relegation back down to the Championship.
"I'm delighted to be here," said Dúbravka. "It's a really exciting time to be joining this Club, ahead of our return to the Premier League.
"I've only heard really positive things about the club, the culture and the environment we work in, so I'm excited about getting going with the season kicking off next weekend."
Burnley brought in 21-year-old Max Weiss in June from German second tier side Karlsruhe to add to Scott Parker’s goalkeeping department which also includes Vaclav Hladky. Dubravka’s arrival comes as James Trafford joins Manchester City which was a huge blow for the side.
The hope now rests on Dubravka staying fit and steadying what was a shaky defensive setup last season and he hopes to add to their momentum and make the fans proud in what will be a tough campaign.
He added: "Burnley had a fantastic campaign last season, built on a superb defensive record, and I can't wait to come in and add my experience and quality to what looks an exciting squad of players.
"I'm really looking forward to playing for the club in front of our passionate fans."
