United view Baleba as their No1 midfield transfer target, but have walked away from the deal due to Brighton's £120m asking price.
United are now shopping for a midfield alternative, though Baleba appears to still be happy with Brighton's stand.
After their 1-1 draw with Fulham on Saturday, Baleba posted to social media: "Just me doing the thing I love most.
"Had fun playing at home with the boys. Nothing new here, just my number and a haircut."
