John, Botafogo's 29-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper, is seen as the main keeper target for Manchester United, who are expected to send a formal offer in the next few days to the club led by John Textor.

According to Goal, Manchester United have already begun initial talks with John's representatives before formalising a bid with Botafogo.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper has a release clause of just 6.8 million euros for clubs outside Brazil, and the same source said that there is another Premier League club interested in John.

This season, the Brazilian keeper, who has a contract until December 2028, has made 30 official appearances for Botafogo.
