Manchester United goalkeepers Altay Bayindir and Senne Lammens are both fighting for a spot under manager Ruben Amorim this season.

Bayindir had started each of United’s Premier League matches this term until Lammens was chosen ahead of him for the Sunderland victory before the international break, in which he kept a clean sheet.

Lammens has already made quite the impression at Manchester United following his £18M move from Royal Antwerp in the transfer window, as he battles with Bayindir for a spot between the sticks.

Lammens was an upgrade in the air as well as on the ball, which puts Bayindir in a very awkward position as he fights for his place.

The Turkish international revealed the pair are close, despite their intense competition, which will continue throughout the season.

“That is the way, everyone has to be together, always,” said Bayindir. “We have a good group, a good goalkeeper group, and we are always pushing each of ourselves on the pitch.

“Of course, we are fighting for the shirt, but in the outside, we have a good relationship, like how we did with Andre. He's at Trabzonspor and he's doing well.”

Despite Bayindir’s display of friendship, Lammens is very likely to start United’s next game against Liverpool, and he must up his game to get back into the side or face more time on the sidelines.
