A number of sides including Manchester City and Bayern Munich have entered the race to sign Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson.

Manchester City have made contact regarding a deal for Forest and England international midfielder Elliot Anderson, who is a wanted man this January after years of impressive performances in the Premier League.

According to a report from Fichajes, Bayern are also keen on acquiring the services of the 23-year-old, as they look to reinforce their midfield next summer.

Manchester United have been linked with the midfielder since the summer transfer window and will now face stiff competition for the Forest star, who has his pick of the clubs at the moment.

Reports state that Anderson could cost upwards of £80M after the Premier League side informed his representatives of their plans to make a move for him.

Forest secured his services for just £41M from Newcastle United and are set to almost double their money at the end of the season when Elliott is said to be allowed to depart.

The midfielder is tied down until 2029, giving Forest the leverage to broker a huge deal as Bayern, City and United all prepare to rush in either during the January window or at the end of the season, which seems like the likely scenario.

With Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes’ future uncertain, Anderson could be key to United’s summer window, but the club must first find a manager to lead them forward.
