Cardiff City manager Brian Barry-Murphy says the club can be proud of the players after their Carabao Cup quarterfinal defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Chelsea won 3-1 as David Turnbull canceled out Alejandro Garnacho's first of two goals for Chelsea with Pedro Neto also scoring on the night.

Barry-Murphy said afterwards: "It was evident the players gave everything for the club, and it was an incredible atmosphere and a memorable night.

"I guess it's the hope that kills you when we scored the goal through David Turnbull, probably all got carried away, myself included, trying to get that second goal.

"I couldn't be prouder of the players. The way they played the game from the first minutes, exactly in the identity we want from this club, and the supporters really revel in that and got behind us."
