Barcelona to test Villa resolve with Torres push

Barca are seeking a new centre-half addition, with former Villarreal stopper Torres on their shopping list, says ESPN.

Left-sided Torres is viewed as an ideal replacement for Inigo Martinez, after he left Barca in August for Al Nassr.

However, Villa management are said to be comfortable with the situation, having Torres tied down until 2028 and under no financial pressure to sell in January - nor over the summer.

For his part, Torres is also said to be happy and settled at Villa Park, with the 28 year-old now in his third season in England.
