Amorim is under immense pressure at Man United following their 3-1 Premier League defeat to Brentford on Saturday (September 27).
The once highly regarded coach now has just 33 points from his 34 Premier League games, winning a grand total of nine games.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, former Barcelona midfielder and manager Xavi is understood to be keen on taking over should United decide to pull the trigger.
Romano states on his YouTube channel that the 45-year-old would take over ‘immediately’, saying: "Xavi is studying the Premier League. Xavi is monitoring the Premier League and Xavi would go immediately to Man United, even without European football - he would go immediately to the Premier League."
