The £10m January signing from Metz has been blocked from playing for Villa due to registration issues.
While born in England, Madjo, who does not turn 18 until January 2027, is affected by Article 19 of FIFA’s rules, which prohibits international transfers of players under 18.
The issue is that Madjo's switch involved a transfer between two foreign clubs.
Against Elche, the midfielder was a 62nd minute substitute as Villa first took the lead through a Pau Torres header before Elche fought back to win through goals from Fede Redondo and Alvaro.
